At Laurence Carr Inc, our favorite month is always April — the month we celebrate Planet Earth globally, and amplify all the reasons she must be protected (now more than ever), and the ways in which we can collectively help contribute to a more environmentally-conscious future.
It is often also our busiest time, as Laurence and her expertise are in high demand for the occasion — and this year is no exception!
Laurence kicked off the month in attendance at the 2023 Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club President’s Dinner at Cipriani’s on 42nd Street in New York, which also celebrated the long-awaited return of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House. It was a beautiful evening, festively hosted by Bunny Williams, Jamie Drake, and Corey Damen Jenkins. A highlight of the event was a lifetime achievement award honoring designer Suzanne Rheinstein. It was a tremendous evening for all 700+ people in attendance!
Next up, Laurence Carr Inc will be teaming up with New York Passive House for Earth Day Initiative’s 2023 Festival + Virtual Stage, featuring dozens of environmental non-profits and climate campaigns, interactive workshops, and speeches. Learn more about how to participate here.
Then, Laurence is jetting off to Milan Design Week in Italy, for Salone Del Mobile, Furorisalone, and Euroluce 2023. She’ll be scouring the world’s best design, art, and furnishings events for interior and product design inspiration and in research for future projects. It’s always an amazing experience, and we’ll be sure to share our favorite finds upon return.
And after that, Laurence will return to the US just in time for the EarthX Congress of Conferences 2023 in Dallas TX, where she’ll be moderating a stellar panel on Circularity and Building Materials on April 21st at 2pm CT as part of their new built environment educational program, with esteemed guests Marty Brennan (Principal, ZGF Architects), and Steve Kooy (Health & Sustainability Director, BIFMA). Learn more about this event here.
Then, she’s hopping into the Earth Day Expo — the world’s largest “green gathering” — to advocate for sustainability in the built environment, architecture, and interior industries, and to promote our EarthxTV original series, Chez Laurence!
What’s more, the first-ever NKBA Summit: Sustainability offers many inspiring and educational sessions this month. Laurence will be featured in a virtual panel discussion, Getting Creative with Sustainable Design, hosted by Metropolis Magazine’s Avinash Rajagopal, organized by Metropolis magazine and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) on April 27th from 1 – 3pm ET. RSVP to attend here.
Finally, on Friday, April 28 from 12 – 2pm ET, Laurence will also join the second annual Sustainability Summit: The Future of Eco-Conscious Living, organized by Hearst, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, and Veranda. Register to join virtually and hear Hearst editors and partners from across disciplines discuss the challenges facing their industries, and learn more about their efforts to make an impact on the health of our planet. Laurence is part of the expert panel, The Future of the Sustainable Home: Sustainable Materials as a Path Forward and in the Home, with host Amanda Simms of House Beautiful. RSVP for this event here.
