Circular City Week New York 2022 has drawn to a close, and this year’s turnout is encouraging evidence that the circularity movement is gaining urgently-needed momentum!
Laurence Carr Inc. is a platform partner of Circular City Week New York 2022. I am honored to be part of this global event that, this year, boasted 110 events, 350+ speakers, 250+ involved organizations, and 10,000+ registered participants who have contributed to a successful week bringing us closer to a circular future.
If you missed our Laurence Carr Inc. expert panel, The Next Frontier: Circularity in Design, please feel free to catch up with the recording at your leisure. It was an informative conversation with practical takeaways on implementing circular economy business practices. And, speaking of Circular City Week, here is a terrific article from Business of Home on how home brands might embrace circularity!
It’s been quite a busy Spring here at LC Inc—between Circular City Week and being on the US advisory committee for ECO Solidarity 2022. This initiative brought together a diverse group of European design practitioners who explore radical sustainability in architecture, urban planning, product design and development, energy, and waste for an exhibit at ICFF x Wanted Design Manhattan.
This year’s ECO Solidarity booth was so successful that they were awarded the ICFF Editors’ Award, one of the design industry’s premier accolades! Congratulations to all the designers involved, EUNIC New York, many European consulates, and Wanted Design for a successful collaboration. It was an honor to be involved.
Also, I served as a jury member for the Conscious Design Awards 2022 for Best Student Projects, presented with Metropolis magazine and organized by Wanted Design. Learn more about these awards, and this year’s talented winners, here. The future of design is certainly looking bright, with brilliant students like these coming into the global industry!
As we head into the summer in the Northern Hemisphere, I’m looking forward to attending the 60th edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano and Milan Design Week in Italy, and to lots of exciting news that we just can’t quite share… yet!
Sending wishes for wellness, until then…
Laurence
