Designer Office 3

Welcome to our first blog hop!

First, I would like to say I am so excited to do this blog hop with these very talented woman! All listed below. We are sharing our designers offices or studios.

What is a blog hop?

It is a blog post with a linked list of a group of blogs with a shared them where readers can hop from blog to blog, enjoying the same topic and each with a unique post of view. It is an enjoyable way to share and connect with other bloggers and influencers. It enables each blogger to share their inspiration and vision and ultimately inspire subscribers and readers’ creative endeavor.

As a holistic interior designer, I have built a career on curating environments that increase overall happiness. As a business owner, I know firsthand how important it is to bring the same sensibilities to your workspace. It is estimated that individuals spend an average of 90,000 hours of their adult lives working. If we are uncomfortable, anxious, and stressed for the duration of that time, we are eating away at the overall quality of our lives.

According to the US Census, in 2017 approximately 8-million people worked from home. This reveals a growing sector of our population who need to place focus on building an optimized home office. To maintain a sense of balance and a steady workflow, we must commit ourselves to the integration of smart technology, which makes things easier and increases productivity. When combined with ancient wisdom, true alignment is achieved.

When creating a smart home office, we suggest starting with a smart hub and branching out from there. Begin with Google Home or Alexa, then opt for Amazon smart plugs, Amazon smart bulbs, and the ecobee smart thermostat. Then, consider targeting air quality with Molekule, a sleek, modern, portable air purifier, designed to filter dust, dander, toxins, and more. Finally, these smart shades by Ikea are a surprising upgrade that gives you full control over the sunlight as it filters into your space.

To leverage ancient wisdom, use Feng Shui techniques to place furniture, arranging your desk so a wall is at your back for grounding. Remove anxiety-producing clutter, and opt for a simple tray, like this one by Michael Aram, that holds a piece of clear quartz, tiger’s eye, and amazonite. Consider keeping eucalyptus and lemongrass oils on-hand for a lift, instead of over-stimulating with caffeine. You can read my blog where I wrote about allowing your surroundings to take care of yourself in curating a smart office.

A work environment that aligns with your desire for productivity to tend to your clients and alignment is key. After all, 90,000 hours is a long time.
