As a holistic interior designer and lifestyle consultant focused on well-being, the importance of alignment is something I cannot stress enough.
When I meet clients for the first time, it often surprises me how many of them view alignment as an important part their personal lives, but haven’t quite managed to see its value in their work lives. One of the founding principles of Laurence Carr Design is that alignment reliably leads to greater success than we ever thought possible.
This is one of the many reasons I was so thrilled to come across The Assemblage, creators of three co-working, co-living, and social spaces in the New York Metro area. This amazing project was founded by Rodrigo Nino, also CEO of Prodigy Network, real estate crowdfunding company. Home to a community of individuals who believe the world is on the verge of a collective conscious revolution, it is one of the first companies I have encountered that has so beautifully aligned interior design with their ethos. The interiors are purposefully designed, furnished and decorated to promote well-being and to encourage a spirit of collaboration, skill sharing and learning together. They reflect The Assemblage three principles: Go Higher, Be of Service and Do Well by Doing Good.
Proof of the belief that alignment is a key factor in success is the $165M crowdfunded so far by individual backers and famed real-estate investment firm, Prodigy Network.
Much like Laurence Carr Design, The Assemblage is built on the notion that vibrant, positive energy pulled from one’s surroundings can be the catalyst for great personal and professional results.
“I believe in our ability to design spaces that can transcend the material plane by adding intention and meaning into it and therefore support the evolution of humanity by the direct experience of living in higher frequencies. “ — Magdalena Sartori, CCO
Celebrating the interconnectedness of all beings, The Assemblage provides spaces for those looking for community in life and work. Bucking the traditional notion that only strong, single-minded individuals can achieve success, The Assemblage provides physical spaces where people can work together to leverage solution-based crowdfunding to catalyze positive change.
A cornerstone of this is a belief we share, that natural elements are vital to one’s alignment with his or her environment. The founders of the Assemblage curate their spaces with that in mind, citing Edward O. Wilson’s theory that humans need to be surrounded by nature and other living systems. Leaning into the concept of biophilia – human beings subconsciously seek bonds with other human beings and living systems – there are 2,530 plants are meticulously placed throughout the 12 floors and rooftop garden by botanical artists Plant the Future.
The meticulously curated, nature-inspired work environment promotes well-being, which in turn, promotes prosperity. Additionally, the Assemblage spaces are optimized for human interaction—a key element of productivity, problem-solving, and positive interactions.
Opened about a year ago, the Nomad building has very specific vibrations and feels settled with its own tribe of members.
In a very slight contrast, the John Street building offers coworking spaces as well as hospitality spaces. It just opened so it conveys a feel of new, fresh and full of promise. The youthful feel gives off high vibrations, alive with kinetic energy.
At both buildings, every floor, every room has been thought through for its function and its purpose. Yoga, meditation sessions, sound therapy, tea ceremonies, whether a traditional medicinal tea bar or a plant cafe, Ayuverdic food cooked daily with seasonal ingredients and events with guests speakers are offered to all who coexist in each of The Assemblage’s extraordinary spaces.
Laurence Carr Design creates environments that help individuals understand better who they are with mind, body, and spirit so they can align with their interiors.
That alignment ultimately leads to well-being and happiness, which they bring into the world. Having visited these extraordinary spaces, my vision of the relationship between interior alchemy and personal transformation was confirmed.
The hallmark of great design is human empowerment, which ultimately contributes happy, vibrant energy into the world.
